Chemi, our Royal White Bengal Tigress

Our beautiful Braveheart is Chemi's son.

Saber

Saber is our male Siberian Tiger.

The tigers at our park must be healthy and happy. We've had several babies born here; Some right in Tom's bed!

"Five of eight subspecies of tigers survive: the Siberian (or Amur) tiger, the South China tiger, the Indochinese tiger, the Sumatran tiger and the Bengal tiger.

Today, tigers in the wild live in Eastern Russia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal.

Siberian tigers are generally the heaviest, with males weighing over 700 pounds, while male Sumatran tigers only weigh about 250-pounds. On average, male tigers are heavier than female tigers.

Tigers can eat up to 77 pounds of meat in one night - the equivalent of 300 hamburgers. Large tigers need to eat an average of 15 pounds of meat a day.

Hear a Tiger Growl

Tigers greet their friends with a much softer sound called chuffling.

Hear a Tiger Chuffle

It was an exciting time at the park Tuesday, August 6, 2003, when Chemi went into labor!

We were there to assist her with the birthing process, which took an incredible 4 hours!

At 9:45 P.M. the first cub was born weighing in at 1 1/2 lbs.  Then, more than two hours later at 12:47 A.M. August 7th, the second cub was born weighing almost 2 lbs.!   Mother and cubs are doing fine.  The proud papa is Kintar, an orange Bengal tiger.
